This issue Vonni tells us all about her recent trip to Mykonos.
We were on the ferry to Mykonos and with seats right at the front on the upper deck. It was fully air conditioned with massive plasma screens and deluxe head sets. We went outside to see Athens fade in the distance as we made the five hour trip to Mykonos.
We had lunch in the very posh restaurant and to our surprise people were actually smoking inside and at the table right next to us. We all pretended to cough loudly as the smoke drifted past us but it’s perfectly legal so there was nothing we could do.
We went back to our seats and to our dismay a French group had moved in. Rochelle threatened them with the guard and we got our seats back. Later we went back outside to enjoy the sun and the sea air and drink Greek beer.
Our hotel was amazing: on a tiny beach in a cove with a massive pool that overlapped into the sea. The buildings were typically Greek: whitewashed walls and blue trim. We headed straight for the beach and had a massage by five yummy body-builder-type Greek men whilst sipping more beer and eating seafood platters.
Later, I decided to wash my wigs and put them to dry outside on my gorgeous private balcony. The next morning they were gone. I could see one in a tree near by and the other was floating in the pool (it must have been a windy night!)
We spent a few days cruising gorgeous islands, relaxing on secluded beaches and swimming in clear blue seas.
Athens is another beautiful city dotted with ancient ruins.
And we went to an amazing club with completely dark rooms where there seemed to be a lot of fondling going on and strange noises that sounded rather sexual. There was also a great dance floor and stage with its own spiral staircase but unfortunately no shows that night (except for what sounded like an animal act in the dark rooms.)
Who knows what was going on in there, it was all Greek to me.
