Mum and dad turn against Katy Perry PDF Print E-mail

katy_perry-250.jpgIt’s not just blaze's music critic who loathes Katy Perry's ‘I Kissed A Girl’.

Now her parents have jumped on the anti-Katy bandwagon.

Mum and dad described their daughter’s oeuvre as “shameful and disgusting”, which seems a fair description – except the devout Christians are repulsed not by the track itself, but the notion of girls kissing.

Mother Mary Hudson drew on her inner godliness when she told the UK's Daily Telegraph: "I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting.”

Back in July, blaze music critic John Donnon had similar misgivings from the opposite perspective.

“Katy Perry may be all over everything like a rash, but it doesn’t mean I have to like her. I’m still smarting from the offensive jibe in her last single, ‘U R So Gay’, which I found about as funny as domestic violence.

“It’s ‘hilarious’ people like Katy that perpetuate hatred towards same-sexers, excused as just having a laugh.

“This is mere vanilla sexual titillation for straight blokes.”
