Hunter said the government was increasingly out of step with public opinion on the issue. The latest Galaxy Poll, commissioned by Australian Marriage Equality, showed 60 per cent of Australians currently favour same-sex marriage with only 36 per cent opposed. Four per cent were undecided. “The Government has always avoided this topic by saying that the community did not support gay marriage,” said Mr Hunter after his speech. “That’s not a very convincing response anymore.” ‘It is time for the Australian government to address this issue, and make marriage equality a reality for all Australians.’ For the full text of Ian Hunter’s speech click here.

Homosexuality is not a choice
written by jerry hernandez , June 19, 2009 Homosexuality is not a choice. Just like you don't choose the color of your skin, you cannot choose whom you are sexually attracted to. If you can, sorry, but you are not heterosexual, you are bi-sexual. Virtually all major psychological and medical experts agree that sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Most gay people will tell you its not a choice. Common sense will tell you its not a choice.
