A man has been excommunicated from the Mormon church for producing a calendar featuring shirtless young missionaries.

31 year old Chad Hardy told reporters he bears no ill will towards the council of elders, saying, "I felt like I spoke my truth.

"Bottom-line, they still felt the calendar was inappropriate and not the image that the church wants to have."

The calendar, called Men on a Mission has sold thousands of copies. It features 12 men wearing black slacks and no shirts. It also features them fully clothed.

None of the models have been punished.
