The Bear Men of Adelaide have announced the programme for this year's Bearstock.
Four days of furry fun begin on Thursday, November 20 with 'Bears on Film'. In an Australian first the Union Cinema, Adelaide University, will host a night of short films by bears, about bears, featuring bears. Tickets are $16/$14 for members and $18/$16 non-members.
Friday, November 21 sees 'Balls and Beats' at the Hindmarsh Bowling Club from 6:30pm. Hot lawn bowls action meets chilled beats from DJ Game. Dinner included. No experience necessary. Starting at 8pm, tickets are $25/$20 for members and non-members $30/$25.
Saturday night is the biggie: Mr Bear SA Competition. Hosted by surreal electro-pop extremists The Bad Father, and featuring the debut performance by new Adelaide bear band Armpit Stench, no bear-lover should miss it. 9pm at Artbase @ Higher Ground, 9 Light Square, Adelaide. Members $23/$18, non-members $28/$23.
The weekend comes to a gentle close on Sunday, November 23 at the Metropolitan Hotel (Grote St.) From 3pm relax with cheap drinks and a delicious meal and enjoy the laid back sounds of Luke Ashby and Eric Kuhlmann. Members $25, non-members $30.
A special Bear's Package applies if you pre-book for all four events. At $75/$65 for members and $95/$85 non-members, punters can save up to $14.
Members' prices are available to any member of a bear club throughout the world. Members must present their membership card or badge at the door to gain entry.
