Feast Festival has announced its theme for 2009: Home Grown.Over the last 13 years Feast has grown into a leading Australian festival celebrating diverse sexualities and genders and exploring, nourishing and celebrating our diverse communities. This year, Feast will showcase Home Grown talent more than ever before. The festival aims to explore Home Grown stories in the performing arts, film, literature, visual arts and more. Feast’s own productions will tell tales from the heart of our city, stories and situations in which local GLBTIQ people find themselves through everyday life. Feast promises ground breaking new artistic work, flourishing works in progress, legendary artists, plus a series of community cultural development projects nourishing the wealth of Home Grown talent in our city. Add the diversity of community events Feast is famous for and you have the recipe for a Home Grown Feast. Feast’s own Home Grown journey will play a part in this year’s festival with the growth of the Feast Team. After a thriving and fruitful journey with Daniel Clarke another chapter starts in Feast’s own Home Grown story with creative producer Kerry Ireland tilling the soil.
