This CD features a luminous array of R&B, soul, Latin and jazz by such greats as Sarah Vaugh, Ella and James Brown. All remixed by today’s masters to inject new life into wonderful standards from yesteryear. Starts off well with Dinah Washington, Cry Me A River remixed by Truth & Soul however loses it a little on Nina Simone’s Gimme Some (Mike Mangini mixing). James Brown gets down and funky and Ella sings up a storm on I Get A Kick Out of You (remixed by cinematic Orchestra.) This album will appeal to young and old for obvious reasons and worth adding to the collection. SRM
