MINISTRY OF SOUND CHILLED 1991-2009Various artists Universal 4 stars The latest compilation from the Ministry of Sound camp ambiguously promises “3 CDs of the very best chilled moments” from 1991 to 2009, and they certainly deliver. From The Beloved’s ‘Sweet Harmony’, Groove Armada’s ‘Fireside Favourite’ and Moloko’s ‘Fun For Me’ on disc one; Basement Jaxx’s ‘Romeo’, Angus and Julia Stone’s ‘Paper Aeroplane’ and Radiohead’s ‘Nude’ on disc two; to Everything But The Girl’s ‘Missing’, Crazy Penis’s ‘BumCop’ and Empire of the Sun’s ‘We Are The People’ on disc three, this is the perfect soundtrack to a lazy afternoon in the sun with mates. Just add barbecue, brewskies and banter. The inclusion of Jamiroquai’s ‘This Corner of the Earth’ will only slightly mar the experience. I love Jay Kay, but that song is tired.
