Just lately something has been troubling me. I have noticed a large amount of hypocrisy and scrutiny in the gay community, especially in the lesbian world. My main problem is people who believe two fems can’t make a relationship work, or two butch, bull dykes, tops, bottoms, whatever. This is an absolute load of crap! I think as a gay community we cop a lot of prejudice, judgement and hatred from the outside world because of who we are and who we love. We should be banding together to overcome this hatred and work towards making the world less homophobic and more accepting, but instead people turn on each other and judge people of their own community and beliefs. Why? I don’t understand. We fight for equality every day, to be able to be together, get married and have children without judgement, yet we judge [others] because of who they love? Unlike the outside world, we know two people of the same sex can love each other but we don’t understand how two people who dress the same, cut their hair in the same way or talk in the same general manner can love each other? It’s the same damn thing. Love is love. Kaitlyn Wright via blazemedia.com.au
