John Waters film director, author, photographer and sometime actor was born on April 22, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. His films include what came to be known as the most notorious film in the American independent cinema of the 1970s, Pink Flamingos. The movie introduced Divine and was dubbed the ultimate trash masterpiece. Most of Waters’ films are an assault on the tastes and predilections of Middle America, although he flirted with the mass audience in 1988’s Hairspray. The sensual and sexual themes of his films reflect the sensual nature of his sign of Taurus.
