Clare Valley artist Grant Burford received the Peoples Choice award at an art exhibition which was part of the recent Tropical Fruits New Year’s Eve party held in Lismore.
Burford received $500 from the organisers which was presented to him by the Mayor of Lismore.
The winning work, “Over the Top”, a graphite drawing on paper, won over a total of 150 works from 34 entrants. A detail version is shown here as it’s a little ‘racy’ for a street publication.
The president of Tropical Fruits, Shane Duniam was delighted with the quality of entrants as was the Mayor of Lismore Jenny Dowell. The mayor spoke very highly of the art works displayed and support for the GLBTIQ art communities.
