After a sell-out stop in Adelaide in 2009, Flickerfest – Australia’s premier International Short Film Festival returns to the Mercury Cinema in February Friday 12 and Saturday 13 and is guaranteed to delight lovers of global cinema.
Friday night’s highlights include the Australian-made short The Clearing and Spain’s Miente (She Lies) (pictured) ¬– which took out last year’s Goya Award for Best Fictional Short Film. Adelaide-made animation The Cat Piano – which took out the Yoram Gross Award for Best Short Animation Film at the Flickerfest International will be one of the must-sees on Saturday night’s program. Also on Saturday is the screening of the French short film Séance Familiale (Family Viewing) ¬about a French TV crew which breaks into a Taiwanese family home in Taipei for a real TV program during a weekend. This film took out a swag of prizes at last year’s Taiwan Film Festival. More information at www.flickerfest.com.au
